A new version of Franson GpsGate has just been released which allows multiple applications to access the one GPS receiver. Version 2.0 is out now making it possible to even share a GPS over ActiveSync and giving access to Google Earth.

We will try this out when our new Flybook comes in as we have some aviation-specific navigation queries that this utility seems to be able to adress quite nicely...

A Must-Have Crime Busting Tool

 

Over a year ago, I had a look at the Pila GL3 from Permalight Asia. Since that last review, Pila have been hard at work overhauling their whole range.

Their website has changed and so have the flashlights. Or have they?

 

 

Today I take another look at the GL3 and I’m quite excited. What’s so exciting about something as boring as a torch, I hear you say?

Dialogue ultra-portable Flybook – Part II

While we're waiting for the latest Flybook to arrive on our doorstep, have a look at a couple of our earlier reviews we did on this now almost cultic machine. Here's the second review from some two years ago:

 

I’ve spent about 3 months with arguably the best-connected ultra-portable notebook in the world, most of that time on the road and all of the time the Flybook being the only computer I worked with.  How did that go?  Have my enthusiastic first impressions (see our July 21 review) mellowed or did I discover the Flybook is for keeps?

ATP is not as well-known as Sandisk or Lexar but they are leaders when it comes to fast and inexpensive MultiMediaCards.  We tested the 256MB and also made some comparisons with SD and CF cards. Here’s what we found.
