Protecting your Gadgets

Why would you write a glowing review about a product that you can't even see?

That's precisely the point: you can't see it but it does have the very important job of protecting the shiny gadgets that you don't want to get scratched.

And that's why they call it the InvisibleSHIELD.

I have put it to good use on two of my most treasured devices, my Nokia N80 and iPAQ 4700.

Let's see how we went.

Book Review: The Annals of the World by James Ussher

If it weren’t for the advertising on WorldNetDaily.com I would not easily have heard of The Annals of the World by James Ussher. They gave a lot of “air play” to marketing a book that’s some 350 years old.

Was it because this book has more twists and turns than the Da Vinci Code? Or perhaps it is because The Annals is based on sound historical data whilst Dan Brown’s novel might make for good reading but manages to upset most ecclesiastical scholars with his mix of fantasy and fact.

Why is The Annals of the World after all these years still relevant?

How accurate is this chronicle of world history?

If you’ve got the time, here’s the tome… all 960 pages of it!

Let’s pry the lid off this treasure chest.

The other day I had the opportunity to have a quick look at the Nokia E61 which most people would categorise as a Blackberry type smartphone.
I only spent an hour with the E61 which probably doesn't do it justice so we'll just stick to the facts and let the pictures do the talking.

A Must-Have Crime Busting Tool

Over a year ago, I had a look at the Pila GL3 from Permalight Asia. Since that last review, Pila have been hard at work overhauling their whole range.

Their website has changed and so have the flashlights. Or have they?

Today I take another look at the GL3 and I’m quite excited. What’s so exciting about something as boring as a torch, I hear you say?

Well read on…

Dialogue ultra-portable Flybook – Part II

While we're waiting for the latest Flybook to arrive on our doorstep, have a look at a couple of our earlier reviews we did on this now almost cultic machine. Here's the second review from some two years ago:

I’ve spent about 3 months with arguably the best-connected ultra-portable notebook in the world, most of that time on the road and all of the time the Flybook being the only computer I worked with.  How did that go?  Have my enthusiastic first impressions (see our July 21 review) mellowed or did I discover the Flybook is for keeps?

Follow me as I put my travelling companion to work.
